Possible side effects?
- To date, for more than 70,000 injected syringes there has been less than 0.65 per thousand (0.065%) occurrence of localised inflammatory granulomas. This may appear months later as an area of lumpiness and/or swelling at the injection site, sometimes with redness. This can be treated with cortisone.
- Infection either bacterial or activation of herpes "cold sore" virus. If infection is severe it may lead to scarring.
- Local necrosis, though not reported to date with Dermalive, NB [the risk with collagen injections is about 0.1%] Our doctors can discuss this potential rare risk further with you.
