Dermalive side effects?

Posted on 10 October 2007

Possible side effects?

  • To date, for more than 70,000 injected syringes there has been less than 0.65 per thousand (0.065%) occurrence of localised inflammatory granulomas. This may appear months later as an area of lumpiness and/or swelling at the injection site, sometimes with redness. This can be treated with cortisone.
  • Infection either bacterial or activation of herpes "cold sore" virus. If infection is severe it may lead to scarring.
  • Local necrosis, though not reported to date with Dermalive, NB [the risk with collagen injections is about 0.1%] Our doctors can discuss this potential rare risk further with you.
