DHEA replacement therapy

Posted on 07 October 2007

DHEA replacement therapy involves supplementation to restore levels to those of a healthy young adult, i.e. physiologic replacement, with levels maintained within the normal range. Typical dose ranges are 15-30mg per day for women and 25-50mg per day for men, usually taken first thing in the morning. Dosage can be monitored by measuring blood (usually as DHEA-S) levels; the blood sample should be taken 3-4 hours after the last dose.
